Tarbert sits on the east of the Mull of Kintyre peninsula which is internationally renowned for its stunning scenery. Tarbert village is a fishing and small ferry port. Visitors come here for its scenic beauty as well as a stop off point for the islands often to be visited for whisky distillery tours. The most famous of these is of course Islay the port to leave from is just a few minutes south of Tarbert
Many guests visit either Arran, Islay or Gigha islands which can easily be toured in a day from Tarbert.

Visit the historic Tarbert Castle and the famous Kintyre Way walks that stretch down the Kintyre peninsula. Tarbert hosts a 9 hole golf course. There are seafood restaurants, cafes and galleries to entice.
The town has for a number of years put on festivals each month is the summer season as well as the winter festival. These have proven to be extremely popular and accommodation must be booked on advance as all rooms in the town become full.
May sees the Scottish Series Sailing fleet based in Tarbert while racing out on Loch Fyne daily. The Traditional Boat festival with Viking Long Boat in June. In July we have the Seafood festival.
